Nora James
Nora James has been a long-time supporter of the public humanities in San Francisco and the state of Nevada. She has served in the past as a commissioner of the Nevada State Commission for Cultural Affairs, as a board member and chair of Nevada Humanities -- the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities -- and on numerous other civic and cultural organizations in San Francisco and Northern Nevada. At present she serves on the boards of KNPB, the public television station in Reno, Nevada, and the Community Foundation of Western Nevada; and she is a member of the advisory board of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Nevada, Reno.
She has served as an officer and director of Electrographic Corporation, San Francisco; Barclays Law Publishers, San Francisco; and currently, Nevada New-Tech, Inc. of Incline Village, Nevada, a private investment firm.
Mrs. James is a writer and holds a B.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of California at Berkeley. She and her husband, Bruce, reside at Lake Tahoe in Nevada.
